Journey to Parenthood: Adalyn's First Annual Family Vacation

Well, folks, we packed the baby and everything else we had and took a three week vacation down to Texas, about 2600 miles roundtrip! We visited Nana and Grandpa, Mommom, Poppop, Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Patricia, Vivienne, Uncle Joseph and Uncle Alex, Aunt Holly...it's been quite the adventure. We were also gone so long that Adalyn learned some new tricks! What kind of tricks, you ask?

1. Teefers! Technically, this isn't a trick, but Adalyn grew two new bottom teeth (grew? do babies actually grow teeth? or do they just show up like unwanted houseguests)! One right after the other. Yes, poor everybody that had to witness the pain and agony they put her through...
2. Sitting up! Adalyn learned how to sit up all by herself! It started with her lounging around like a cat on a hot day, which segued into sitting up. TADA!
3. Advanced crawling! Adalyn took a few pointers from Poppop when he came to visit, and went from crawling on her stomach faster than a speeding hamster to crawling on her hands and knees.
4. Charming things other than adults! We interacted with babies and toddlers, ponies, cows, dogs, other cats...Adalyn's minions now include different species!
5. Cute BBBBBBBBB sounds with lips! This was almost too much cute to take...

To start things off, Adalyn prepares herself for the new things she will encounter on her trip...like other kitties. So, we watch a video of what a new kitty might look like:

We're not sure what Adalyn's preparing for here, but I'm sure she thought it was a good idea at the time.
